Flourish was a collection of sculptures from a world where nature has claimed its place among the relics of our culture, where biology and technology are intertwined, a declaration of life's persistence despite all adversity. The exhibition was an exploration of my individual survival guilt and our shared implication in the actions of our contemporaries.
But Flourish is hopeful. The sculptures bulge and slump with a living weight and repose, bodies at rest, relieved from the efforts and urges that define our lives. They are a respite from the daily grind, heavy, quiet and still, they offer us a chance to reflect while they gather their strength to grow and thrive.
