Howie@howiesneider.com'Olly olly oxen free' a collaborative sculpture made with Kiki Sciullo. Currently on view at the Tiverton Four Corners art center in Tiverton, RI.
Olly olly oxen free. It's safe to come out now. Technology has fully saturated nature.
From the Pacific Gyre to game cameras, we are monitoring, interacting with and manipulating our landscape in every conceivable way. We cant pretend to understand this from anything other than a human perspective, but from where we sit it is hard to distinguish our influence from the natural courses we have derailed.
Our sculptures reflect that paradox between human made and self propagated wildlife. We share the art making process with natural forces as well, expecting that our work will change and be affected by human interaction along with atmospheric conditions. We look forward to witnessing the evolution of the piece and allowing it to offer a framed perspective on the seasonal and daily state of the sculpture park.
